We want to make sure to thank all of our judges and our visiting guests for taking time our of their busy schedules to spend time with the students.  Our judges included: Michael Wickstrom (KEC Alum, Hyvee), Dr. Lan Li (NIU Hospitality), Rose Treml (Sycamore Chamber), Jesus Ramero (Taxco); Talon Foulker (KEC Alum, Feed Em Soup), Chef Alex Smith, Derik Gibbs (Feed Em Soup), Chef Inga Arnold (DeKalb High School).

Cinco de Mayo!

Come out and join us for Discover Sycamore's 16th annual Cinco de Mayo festival on Sunday, May 5th from 1pm - 9pm in downtown Sycamore.  Our culinary students will be working along side the Taxco restaurant crew to cook and serve authentic Mexican food all day.  A portion of the proceeds is being donated back into our culinary  classroom!

CAI: Menu Design Projects

The Culinary Arts I students are putting together a menu for their dream restaurant.  These are creative and fun but they also use the lessons of formatting and pricing styles, menu choices and more.

Spring Break

KEC Spring Break is March 25 - March 29.  There is no class on Monday, April 1 for the teacher institute day.  Classes will resume Tuesday, April 2.

Exam - March 18

Due to the snow day the next exam will be moved to Monday, March 18.  It will cover chapters 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and all lectures and lecture notes.

End of Quarter

CA II Virtual Restaurant Assignments

All of the VR assignments, quizes and simulations have been opened for students to finish.  Please work on the readings, simulations and quizes to have finished by Monday, March 4th. 

Exam - Feb. 25

Our next exam will be Monday, Februrary 25.  It will cover all readings, lectures and homework assignments having to do with vegetables, legumes, fruits and chocolate.
